I wasn’t even expecting it, just pottering along in Richmond to buy a few things;
came around the corner and there it was! A thrilling new display in the Waterstones window!
So the Dixie car has motored all the way from Waterstones Piccadilly (with a tiny hamper from Fortnum and Masons on board, hope) – how pleased with themselves they look, and rightly so…
Passers-by can also have a peak at something that until now I’ve kept to myself.
It’s the original notebook of drawings and notes, made when the Dixie stories were first coming to life in my head.
A bit like looking over the shoulder of the artist at work, but without the boring bits like listening to the rustling of sweetie wrappers or pencils being chewed.
