March was the busiest month I can remember for a long time, and one of the most joyful.
Rushing from town to town and school to school via bookshops and festivals: reading aloud, drawing, doing crafty projects, shovelling down school dinners. Losing my voice. Sharing the booky love and meeting hundreds of fantastic children.

The pictures tell it best…
Every evening my kitchen table looked liked this:

(preparation and attention to detail being my MO…)

Children are transfixed to see someone drawing, and a storytelling with lots of chatting and joining in always goes down well…

but it’s the ‘mingling’ that I love best.

We made a lot of bunnies! I love to see how the crafty examples I take along –

are replicated so beautifully…

or re-styled…

or wildly adapted for a different look.

We made badges and Tinies-in-matchbox-beds too.

And my most precious pics of the month show the children proudly showing their masterpieces. You can’t always see what they have made in great detail, but the expression on their faces is unmistakable.

Oh. I’ve just noticed. Oops!

I would like to you to know, I DO have a change of clothes, didn’t sleep in my car and did occasionally wash during book month…
