I have been trying and trying to draw a 1950’s Airstream trailer. It has a walk-on part in Dixie O’Day, the book I’m doing with my Mum. A beautiful shape, but oh what a tricky one to get JUST RIGHT.
Until I realised I recognised that curvy bottom – it was right under my nose all along!
Here is my guinea pig, Delilah…
Lovely curves! Both sets made me smile!
Thank you very much Anne!
I am declaring today National Curvy Bottoms Day, as they don’t get the recognition they deserve, and it took a lot of effort to earn my own…
Oh now that is just brilliant! Made me smile lots on a drizzly tuesday morning. I’ve always loved those streamliner trailers but I’m never going to be able to look at one in the same way now (in fact if my retirement plan comes to fruition I’m going to have to stick a tiny pink tail on mine!)
Hello! Thanks so much for calling by, and I’m loving our twitter conversation too. How lucky that you are a connoisseur – I can see I’m going to be setting you to work as my researcher (if you’ll take the job!)…
Roll on the retirement plan, I love it!
Love it! How handy you had a model 🙂 I can’t wait to see more!
Thank you so much Lucy! And for the Love Bug trailer top tip…
These pets of ours must earn their keep somehow or other!
Gorgeous! Oh how delectably curvy that bottom is…
Oh hello Andrea, how lovely to see you here!
I realise that I ruthlessly took your BRILLIANT idea of drawing an Airstream for Dixie, but never even publicly said thank you! You just can’t trust these illustrators, no manners whatsoever, actually very Lou Ella: what would Dixie and Percy say?? X
Brilliant! And so very cute too xx
Thank you so much, Anne-Marie!
I think all bottoms should be curvy, and all forms of transport should be guinea pig shaped… but not sure that is entirely practical… X
Ah that’s cute – and I love the picture – you are so talented!
Well that is very very kind of you to say so, thank you! Ditto X
