I’ve clocked up a phenomenal thousand tweets over the six weeks I’ve been on Twitter (AND I was locked out for an hour for over-tweeting on my first day! can you imagine??)…
I discovered this just as I was drawing a wind-up chattering set of false teeth for my book, and immediately thought – how appropriate! The perfect metaphor, chattering on infinitely…
I asked around. A good friend of mine thought she was the elephant of Twitter, plodding along – but she couldn’t be less ploddy or elephant-ish if she tried! – and David Melling thought it brought out his ‘dark side’…
Alex Paterson reckons he’s ‘the occasional therapod’ of Twitter:
…what are you?
I’m still relatively new to Twitter, so I’m the new girl in the class, jumping up and down in the back row with my hand in the air going ‘Miss! Miss!’ so as to be noticed. This is despite the fact that I’m actually a two-headed tweety monster, half of my tweets being about children’s literature (and links to my own work) and half being about Thai and Burmese current affairs, with the occasional retweet of things written in Thai. But I’m sitting so far back in the classroom that I’m not sure anyone’s realised.
Well I’VE realised! I’m looking right over the heads of all those other folks at the new girl jumping up and down, who obviously has a lot to say that is very well worth a listen! Thank you for your comment, lovely to hear from you.
Thanks! Twitter is great – can’t believe I used to waste entire days procrastinating on Facebook. Whereas now I waste entire days procrastinating on Twitter. Er…
I feel strongly that it’s a VERY superior form of procrastination! And look forward to ‘seeing’ you out there very often…
