Books to stroke and sigh over…
The first is The Black Apple’s Paper Doll primer by Emily Winfield Martin: ethereal, beautifully created characters…
and their exquisite clothes. To cut out or keep? What a DILEMMA.
The second book is a one off and I own the only copy. I’m a devoted (ok, obsessive) fan of Gwnedd Rae; her stories about the little bear Mary Plain – still around, but only just – were an essential part of my childhood and I have them all. But I didn’t have this book, a novel Leap Year Born, and it seems it’s disappeared…
so this copy has been all typed up and bound, especially for me! What a lucky bean I am.
I’ve never heard of having a ‘lost’ book typed up and specially bound – what a thoughtful, wonderful present!
Thank you for the kind comment!
Yes, really wonderful… it was my kind son, typing away in his university library. I was amazed!
