secret-in-a-matchbox
Make a perfect pocket-sized present…
I got the idea for Lucky Wish Mouse from finding an old matchbox behind the fireplace in our house. The perfect bed, I thought, for a mouse. So I made a mouse out of felt (not very well: the bead-nose has a troubling way of coming loose and hanging off by a thread).
There’s something appealing about a matchbox-sized surprise. I’ve taken this idea to lots of workshops for children and it always goes down well.
It couldn’t be simpler:
take one empty matchbox, cover it in paper (pre-folded into the right shape helps) and decorate. Fill with treasure, tiny pictures, Christmas greetings, secret messages…
But be warned – they don’t close firmly. I am still regretting the tiny portable seaside project, complete with fine sand.
Oooh, gorgeous! My little girls will love this – will have to hunt out some matchboxes 🙂 Thank-you!
Thank you SO MUCH! And I hope your girls will be having the most wonderful Christmas.
So pleased we are in touch!
